Rabbi Anthony Gerson has served the South African Jewish community as a Mohel for over 30 years. He trained in 1981 and continues to keep updated on the latest developments in techniques, research and healthcare. During this time, Rabbi Gerson has performed thousands of Brises, including his own sons and grandsons, and is today a leading expert in his field. Rabbi Gerson was trained by the renowned Rabbi Yosef Dovid Weisberg (Yossele) of Jerusalem and maintained a strong connection with him throughout his life. Rabbi Gerson continues to enjoy a special connection with the Weisberg family to this day.

Rabbi Micha Kaplan is the Vice Principal of Maharsha Boys High School. He studied in Israel for 10 years during which time he obtained his Smicha and qualified as a Sofer. His passion for medicine has led him to be an active volunteer responder for Hatzolah Medical Rescue and to develop a keen interest in the mitzva of Millah. He studied the Laws of Millah and was mentored here in Johannesburg for two years by Rabbi Antony Gerson. He then attended the London School of Circumcision where he attained certification from its Director - Rabbi Ephraim Jocovic. Qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Cape Town in 1981. He received his smicha and Brit Milah Diploma in Jerusalem in 1985. He has been in in general practice since 1986 and has been performing circumcisions on new-borns ,children and adults for the past 25 years. Apart from being a regular general practitioner, he is the doctor at a large old aged home and is also contracted to various embassies to do immigration medical examinations for entry to those countries.

Dr Dean Gersun, qualified as a medical doctor in 2009 from the University of the Witwatersrand. After his internship, he completed a year as a medical officer in general and trauma surgery at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. As part of his training, he became experienced in medical circumcision and trained as a mohel under the guidance and supervision of Rabbi Suchard. Dr Gersun spent the next two years in Jerusalem at the Ohr Somayach and Mir Yeshivas. During this time he received further Brit Milah qualifications from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Fuchs of Eida Chareidit and from Rabbi Yehuda Baum. He has travelled around the world to perform Brissim in Israel, Dubai, Cyprus, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan and locally in Zimbabwe, Durban and Cape Town. Dr Gersun is in his final year of training to become an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon.

Rabbi Liebenberg is the spiritual leader of the Claremont Wynberg Hebrew Congregation. He studied at the Yeshivah Gedolah of Johannesburg and took several courses through UNISA. Rabbi Liebenberg has had a long interest in circumcision and, in 2014, he underwent extensive training in the practice of brit milah in Israel under the expert tutelage of Rabbi Yechezkel Kein, a veteran mohel who has trained hundreds of students. Rabbi Liebenberg takes great care to use only the highest levels of hygiene and sterilisation when performing brit milah and offers parents peace-of-mind both before and after the procedure with his patient nature, availability and clear instructions. He has been praised by doctors for his surgical technique and by parents for his bedside manner. He is available to perform britot in the greater Cape Town area and further afield, when possible.
